Leadership
Townie, Grandfather, Philanthropist
Our esteemed founder Jim opened the doors of what is now Hannon-Murphy in 1968, with the idea of a friendly neighborhood insurance agency that would also be an integral part of the community while protecting families, individuals and businesses. Jim can still be found almost daily in the Pembroke office, and in past years Jim has served many different roles in Pembroke, including President of the Pembroke Lions Club, President of the Pembroke Arts Festival and President of the Pembroke Historical Society. He has also served as a town selectman and as a housing authority member. Jim and his wife enjoying traveling the globe, whether is on a cruise ship or sleeping in a tent on the African Savanah. They are also frequently found in St. John, their home away from home. Jim, his wife, and their dog Molly are proud to call Pembroke home, and when not in town, can often be found on the sidelines of one of their granddaughters sporting events. Jim received his insurance brokers license in 1959 upon graduating from Pace College in NY. In 1985 he achieved the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor, and to this day is an active partner in Hannon-Murphy.
What can we say about one of the agency owners? Only good things of course!
Steve graduated from Cardinal Spellman in 1989 before enrolling in Bridgewater State for 2 years before transferring to University of Georgia where he graduated with a BA in Finance in 1994. After graduation he worked for UPS for a short period, before he joined what was then Hannon-Ryan in 1995 as a life insurance salesman.
While Steve certainly knew that Jim Hannon was an all around fantastic guy and great businessman, he also knew joining his future father in law in business would be an adventure that would last a lifetime.
When he isn’t answering our many questions about computer upgrades and pinch hitting in the commercial department, Steve enjoys taking his chocolate lab Kona for runs. Spending time with his wife and 3 daughters is Steve’s favorite pastime, whether is traveling the globe or just hanging out at a sporting event.
Steve holds the Certified Insurance Counselor and the Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation.

With over 46 years in the insurance industry, Pat brings unmatched experience, deep knowledge, and a genuine love for helping people. Whether it’s solving problems or making sure clients have the right coverage at the right price, Pat is all about making things easier and better for everyone who calls.
A proud holder of the CIC and CISR designations, she’s also a passionate tea drinker—and her tea thermos is a permanent fixture on their desk, offering a quiet moment to reset and re-focus.
When it’s time to unwind, Pat enjoys reading, walking, and soaking up stories from her 5 grandchildren (while sneakily becoming their favorite listener). Vacation mode? That means a cruise ship, where everything’s in one place and every day offers something new. Pat has checked off some special bucket list moments too—like witnessing the tide change at the Bay of Fundy and tracing her mother’s family roots back through Vermont and Canada.
Fun little fact: while there are no pets at home now, Pat and her family once had a black lab named Maybe (as in, Maybe she’d stay, maybe she wouldn’t—spoiler alert: she stayed-for a long time).
Pat’s go-to movie for a good laugh and a little nostalgia? Hocus Pocus. For all her insurance knowledge and achievements- the achievement she holds closest to her heart? Raising her family—the real-life magic that matters most.
Amy has been a member of the Hannon-Murphy team since September of 1987. Amy is a commercial lines account manager. Amy has her CIC, CISR and certificate in General Insurance.
Sarah has been part of the Hannon Murphy team for 21 years—and counting. Over the years, she’s worn many hats, starting as an Account Representative, then stepping into the role of Marketing Director, and now keeping everything running smoothly as part of the Operations team. With a job that changes daily, she thrives on variety—no two days are ever the same (and she loves it that way).
Her drink of choice? Strawberry Banana Crystal Light, on a near-constant loop. Her desk is never without a stash of “Nana candy”—you know, the classic butterscotch and strawberry hard candies your grandma always had.
At home, things are just as lively with Gabby, a labradoodle who’s convinced she’s a cat, and two actual cats: Luke and Leia—though they're better known by their stage names, Greg and Fat Cat. Also adding to the fun are 2 teenage daughters and a college age son--life is always interesting!
She never gets tired of watching The Office, finds comfort in a good handful of Nilla Wafers, and is most proud of her favorite role yet: being a mom. If she weren’t keeping things in line at Hannon Murphy, you'd probably find her in a courtroom chasing down objections as a lawyer. Her life’s theme song? Mess by Noah Kahan—which pretty much sums up the beautiful chaos she navigates with style.
Joanne has been a valued member of the Hannon Murphy team since 1981. Over the years, she’s become known not just for her deep knowledge of insurance and skill with complex claims, but for the personal care and attention she gives every customer she works with. Going above and beyond is just part of who she is.
Outside the office, Joanne is a proud Patriots fan and an HGTV enthusiast who’s always up for a home renovation show. She loves to travel—especially to warm, sandy beaches—and her favorite moments are the ones that include her two grandsons, who are the true joy of her life.
Joanne holds a Massachusetts Insurance License and has earned the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. She serves as a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative here in our Pembroke office, where her warmth, experience, and dedication continue to make a difference every day.
If you’re calling Hannon-Murphy Insurance and hear a smile through the phone, it’s probably Rachel. Always ready to help clients save money and navigate their coverage, she brings heart, humor, and a little caffeine boost (thanks to Marylou’s Coffee) to the office every day.
A big Bruins fan (bring back Brad Marchand, please and thank you), Rachel is all about family, hockey, pizza, and soaking in life’s little joys—like driving around town while blasting “Free Fallin’” by Tom Petty. Her desk essential? Water. Always. Hydrate, hydrate. Oh-and hydrate.
When she’s not cheering for her team or answering client questions, you’ll find Rachel laughing at Hitch for the hundredth time or hanging out with her very goofy dog, Kevin.
Dreaming of a trip to Ireland to find long-lost relatives and maybe a pub or two, Rachel has a solid Plan B if the insurance world ever lets go: rich on a yacht somewhere. Until then, she’s proud to be here, doing what she loves and building a life with her beautiful little family.
Since joining the team in March 2024, Carol has brought over two decades of insurance experience—dating back to 2003—and a passion for helping customers every step of the way. She hold a CPPL (Certified Professional in Personal Lines) and is currently working toward her AILP (Accredited Insurance Lines Professional). Whether it’s answering questions or solving problems, she truly enjoys making someone’s day a little easier.
Outside of work, Carol proudly serves as an officer of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. She volunteers many hours with the Elks and is proud of her contributions to the community through all the events the Elks holds. Her “Elk” friends are some of her dearest friends and are a wonderful part of her life journey.
Iced tea is her go-to drink, and her favorite comfort food is a good ol' bag of potato chips.
When Carol isn’t cheering on her kids or grandkids (her proudest achievement), you might find her rewatching Footloose or daydreaming about relaxing on the beaches of Aruba. Carol’s phone is always nearby—just in case a customer (or one of her kids) needs her!

Since joining Hannon-Murphy Insurance in May 2025, Samantha has been diving headfirst into the world of personal lines—quite literally, considering she holds 11-ELEVEN!!!- scuba diving certifications and dreams of exploring the Great Barrier Reef someday.
With 6 years of insurance experience under her belt and currently working toward multiple designations, Sam is always eager to learn something new every day.
A proud parent and coffee enthusiast, Samantha keeps a photo of her adorable daughter Maddy front and center on her desk. When she's not helping clients or studying up on industry certifications, you might find her rewatching Harry Potter or Peaky Blinders or hanging out with her and Maddy's favorite cat duo—Padfoot and Luna, who act more like rambunctious puppies than felines.
Fun fact? If she wasn't at HM, she'd be on a beach, margarita in hand, but we’re glad she’s here instead—bringing great energy, deep knowledge, and just the right dose of wizarding magic to the team.
Pembroke Administrative Assistances
Coming Soon
Our very own Personal Assistant.
Karen is a former school teacher who keeps this office running with our other two office assistants. Her organizational skills are unmatched, and we are pretty sure she is happy to be using real pens and not crayons anymore.
When not ordering our supplies and keeping us running, Karen loves to spend time taking enrichment classes and taking her dog Moose on walks.
Nancy
is coming up on a big milestone—her 10-year work anniversary with Hannon Murphy in 2025! Over the past decade, she’s become a vital part of the team, known for her dedication, quick wit, and the strong bond she shares with her coworkers—her favorite part of the job.
Fueled by coffee (a full pot a day, to be exact), she’s always ready to tackle the day—whether it’s helping clients or learning something new, like handling glass claims. Her desk isn’t complete without her trusty “Bermuda” water bottle, a subtle nod to her love of sunshine and travel.
Despite visiting Disney every year, she’d still jump at the chance to go again—ideally with a churro in hand (or maybe selling them if she weren’t in insurance). Her life’s theme song? Anything that is uplifting and fun!
At home, in addition to her husband and two children, she’s kept company by two cats: Alden, the talkative sidekick who follows her everywhere, and Rosie, the quiet observer who prefers to keep to herself. When it’s time to unwind, she loves watching documentaries about unsolved mysteries and enjoying any kind of comfort food—she’s not picky!
Fun Fact: Nancy is not only our weather reporter, but she is also our Holiday enthusiast.
Her proudest achievement? Raising her kids, hands down.

Lisa
may be new to Hannon Murphy, but she brings over eight years of insurance experience and a strong passion for building lasting client relationships. As she settles into her role, she's excited for the journey ahead and looks forward to many great years with the team.
Known for her ability to connect with clients and earn their trust, she approaches each day with dedication—and usually a glass of iced coffee or cup of tea within reach.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find her with a crochet hook in hand, watching Everybody Loves Raymond, or spending quality time with her three sons, her proudest achievement. She shares her home with a dog named Caz and a cat named Harley, both full of personality.
Her dream is to take an Alaskan cruise—first stop: soaking in the views. When it comes to comfort food, nothing beats a plate of spaghetti and meatballs.
She’s currently diving into the world of commercial auto and embracing the challenge. If she weren’t in insurance, she’d likely be crunching numbers as an accountant. Her life’s theme song? Fight Song by Rachel Platten—an anthem of strength, perseverance, and drive.
Fashion icon to insurance agents everywhere, grandmother, mother
Maggie joined the Hannon Murphy in 1998, starting out in our Pembroke office serving as an account manager in the personal lines department. In 2014 she transferred to the Plymouth office.
Maggie’s top priority is developing long term relationships with her clients and helping them feel comfortable navigating the insurance world.
Osterville
Grandmother, Beach Lover, Generous Spirit
Lisa became a member of the Hannon-Murphy Family in 2008, marking her 10th anniversary with us this summer! Our Osterville office is the perfect place for Lisa since she loves going to the beach, whether to play in the sand with her grandson or just sit and enjoy the view. Lisa is an avid New England Patriots fan, often gathering with her sons to watch a game. Spending free time with her grandson is Lisa’s absolute favorite thing to do, whether it’s a trip to somewhere off cape, or just an afternoon playing in the sand. Lisa is very passionate about volunteering her time and raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis and participates yearly in the Ski for the Cure.
Beach lover, former floater, busy lady
Hannon-Murphy welcomed Maryjo into the family in August 2019.
Maryjo started working insurance many moons ago, as far back as possibly her early 20’s, working in Aetna’s offices first as support staff, and later as a “floater”. Working in multiple areas within the company allowed Maryjo to strengthen her skills and knowledge in not only personal lines, but commercial lines also.
Maryjo and her husband have three children and two grandchildren and have recently become “empty nesters”, but their beloved (Dachshund Chihuahua mix) Bella keeps them occupied. When they aren’t golfing, they enjoy their beach days in Sandwich.
Maryjo received her producer license in 2015. In 2017 she received her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation.
