What can we say about one of the agency owners? Only good things of course!
Steve graduated from Cardinal Spellman in 1989 before enrolling in Bridgewater State for 2 years before transferring to University of Georgia where he graduated with a BA in Finance in 1994. After graduation he worked for UPS for a short period, before he joined what was then Hannon-Ryan in 1995 as a life insurance salesman.
While Steve certainly knew that Jim Hannon was an all around fantastic guy and great businessman, he also knew joining his future father in law in business would be an adventure that would last a lifetime.
When he isn’t answering our many questions about computer upgrades and pinch hitting in the commercial department, Steve enjoys taking his chocolate lab Kona for runs. Spending time with his wife and 3 daughters is Steve’s favorite pastime, whether is traveling the globe or just hanging out at a sporting event.
Steve holds the Certified Insurance Counselor and the Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation.
Our esteemed founder Jim opened the doors of what is now Hannon-Murphy in 1968, with the idea of a friendly neighborhood insurance agency that would also be an integral part of the community while protecting families, individuals and businesses. Jim can still be found almost daily in the Pembroke office, and in past years Jim has served many different roles in Pembroke, including President of the Pembroke Lions Club, President of the Pembroke Arts Festival and President of the Pembroke Historical Society. He has also served as a town selectman and as a housing authority member. Jim and his wife enjoying traveling the globe, whether is on a cruise ship or sleeping in a tent on the African Savanah. They are also frequently found in St. John, their home away from home. Jim, his wife, and their dog Molly are proud to call Pembroke home, and when not in town, can often be found on the sidelines of one of their granddaughters sporting events. Jim received his insurance brokers license in 1959 upon graduating from Pace College in NY. In 1985 he achieved the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor, and to this day is an active partner in Hannon-Murphy.
Pat has been a vital part of Hannon-Murphy for more years than she cares to admit- two score and 3 years ago. A history buff, Pat loves to spend her free weekends exploring the many historical sites on the East coast, with an affinity for Colonial and Civil War era museums and battlefields-but if she can’t do that, she’ll be more than happy to jump on a cruise ship and head somewhere tropical. She is the proud and very involved grandmother of five grandchildren and a grand-dog-who all love to go to her house and be spoiled. Having grown up in Pembroke, and still living locally, Pat is very committed to the charities that serve the towns veterans and families in need. Pat is not only the vice president of Hannon-Murphy, but also the office manager in the Pembroke branch and a customer service representative in the commercial department where she services accounts ranging from small business policies to large commercial accounts. She holds her certificate in General Insurance, and the CIC Designation.
Amy has been a member of the Hannon-Murphy team since September of 1987. Amy is a commercial lines account manager. Amy has her CIC, CISR and certificate in General Insurance.

Sue has been our in-house entertainer since she waltzed in the office in 2008-she is usually singing along to the radio, or if its not on, she’ll just sing something! Sue loves to spend her free time on the golf course and will talk HGTV with anyone-she feels a particular fondness for any home décor found on “Fixer Upper”. Besides being a dedicated Hallmark movie viewer, Sue considers herself a self-taught black belt in shopping-with a specialty in finding bargains at Kohls and T. J. Maxx. Sue handles a multitude of responsibilities and not only provides amazing customer service to her personal lines accounts but has received the Safeco Customer Appreciation award two years in a row. Sue has obtained the designation of Certified Insurance Service Representative and completed the Seven Steps to Success program. During football season, feel free to ask her what snack she is making for the game, because there is no doubt she is whipping up something delicious!
Judy joined the Pembroke office team in March of 2023. Having already obtained her real estate license she is now studying for her Property and Casualty license. Judy is working hard to learn the insurance industry-and so far we are all impressed! Judy isn't afraid to try new things and has taken to our office like a duck to water-fitting right in. We are all very happy she decided to join us here in Pembroke.
Joanne has been a fixture at Hannon Murphy since 1981, and while she loves handling a complicated claim or is well known for going above and beyond for her customers, she also loves her Patriots and HGTV. Outside of working here in our Pembroke office, Joanne loves to travel to any location that has a great beach, and its even better if she can bring the grandkids along with her. Her two grandsons are the light of her life, and she enjoys spending any free time with them. Joanne holds her Massachusetts Insurance license and also holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative designation and is a personal lines customer service representative.
Nancy joined the Hannon-Murphy team in September 2015 as a processor. She brings with her a love of all things stormy, and you can usually find her updating the staff with her latest readings from her home weather station or letting us know what the weather is in Disney World, her favorite vacation spot. Nancy stays very busy when not working part time in our Pembroke office, cheering her children on at their sports and after school activities, or walking and exploring the tide pools at Duxbury Beach. “New” Nancy as she is known around our office, is in charge of processing renewals, policy changes, and backing up our office administrative assistant as needed.
Mother, Grandmother, GREAT grandmother, chef extraordinaire, gardener
Since 2000, Nancy E. has served as our office gatekeeper, receptionist, greeter, and our girl Friday in general. Surprisingly, with all we do to keep her busy she does have a life outside of our office. Nancy loves spending her free time with her family, whether gathering around to watch the Patriots or a rerun of NCIS and munching on whatever meal she cooked up for them. Nancy will spend her evenings in the summer either at the beach having a picnic dinner, or at the Plymouth waterfront people watching. If she had to pick her favorite thing to do besides open and sort the mail, she would say going to concerts-anything from classical to oldies and rock and roll. When she isn’t dancing in the aisles, Nancy keeps our office in order, from answering the phones to the ginormous task of our daily automated download.
Karen is a former school teacher who keeps this office running with our other two office assistants. Her organizational skills are unmatched, and we are pretty sure she is happy to be using real pens and not crayons anymore.
Sarah started her insurance career while still in high school, working part time at Hannon-Murphy answering phones and taking payments. While attending Suffolk University and even graduating in 2001, she continued working part-time until tiring of the commute into Boston. AFter qualifying for her MA Property and Casualty license , she worked briefly in the Osterville office before moving to the Pembroke office. For 13 years, Sarah was a personal lines service representative until taking the marketing director position in 2018. A self proclaimed Nerd, Sarah loves to plan and take road trips with her husband and three children visiting national monuments and landmarks or state parks in the New England area. A Pembroke resident, Sarah is very involved in the Parent Teacher Organization and is often found at the cross country and track fields with her high schooler-if she isn’t driving a her middle daughter to dance class, or driving her youngest to basketball games around the South Shore. Sarah holds both the Certified Insurance Service Representative and Certified Professional Insurance agent designations.
Paula has handled both personal and business insurance since 1996. In 2005 when the agency she worked for was bought by Hannon-Murphy, Paula joined our family. Paula enjoys working in the Plymouth office as it is close to the waterfront and the center of Plymouth.
One of our newer staff members is Frank! Beyond the professional realm, Franks a gaming enthusiast, bringing a fresh perspective and a penchant for strategic thinking to the table. And to top it all off, Frank has an adorable canine companion! Kenzy is Frank's sidekick, and her lab mix personality makes her the perfect wingman for him. Possessing his Property and Casualty license, and working towards his Certified Insurance Service Representative designation, we're thrilled to have Frank aboard.

Maggie joined the Hannon Murphy in 1998, starting out in our Pembroke office serving as an account manager in the personal lines department. In 2014 she transferred to the Plymouth office. Maggie’s top priority is developing long term relationships with her clients and helping them feel comfortable navigating the insurance world.
Lisa became a member of the Hannon-Murphy Family in 2008, marking her 10th anniversary with us this summer! Our Osterville office is the perfect place for Lisa since she loves going to the beach, whether to play in the sand with her grandson or just sit and enjoy the view. Lisa is an avid New England Patriots fan, often gathering with her sons to watch a game. Spending free time with her grandson is Lisa’s absolute favorite thing to do, whether it’s a trip to somewhere off cape, or just an afternoon playing in the sand. Lisa is very passionate about volunteering her time and raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis and participates yearly in the Ski for the Cure.
Hannon-Murphy welcomed Maryjo into the family in August 2019.
Maryjo started working insurance many moons ago, as far back as possibly her early 20’s, working in Aetna’s offices first as support staff, and later as a “floater”. Working in multiple areas within the company allowed Maryjo to strengthen her skills and knowledge in not only personal lines, but commercial lines also.
Maryjo and her husband have three children and two grandchildren and have recently become “empty nesters”, but their beloved (Dachshund Chihuahua mix) Bella keeps them occupied. When they aren’t golfing, they enjoy their beach days in Sandwich.
Maryjo received her producer license in 2015. In 2017 she received her Certified Insurance Service Representative designation.
